Examples
[edit]It would be great if there were some musical examples (just the first few bars) of the references used in Shostakovch's String Quartet No. 8. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.200.39.68 (talk) 18:44, 21 August 2003 (UTC)
- Yes please, and what/where/which is the 'Jewish theme'? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 220.240.36.67 (talk) 23:35, 27 June 2022 (UTC)
- I have added a clip of the final statement of the DSCH motif from the last movement. I may upload more clips later. --bdesham ★ 20:20, 4 November 2005 (UTC)
Woud
[edit]Just a quick note...is "woud" as quoted in Shostakovich's letter supposed to be spelled without the letter "L"? I don't have the book as a reference. --Vitruvian0 21:33, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
Faith No More reference
[edit]The last minute of the song "Malpractice" by Faith No More from their album Angel Dust samples or has a synth rendition of the motif at the end of Movement II. First instance in Malpractice is at 2:55 but they do it several times afterward. Is this notable enough to add to this article? Faith No More is a notable band but Malpractice is one of the least popular songs on that album. CheeseSchmuckius (talk) 03:37, 13 March 2025 (UTC)
